Gavin Brzozowski (Baylor University) had himself a day at the plate going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a two-run home run, and a solo home run, racking up six RBIs and two runs. MJ Sweeney (Grossmont CC) went 2-for-4, scoring once with three RBIs. Nate Voss (Penn State University) went 3-for-4, including a solo home run, scoring twice. Tyler Guerin (University of Iowa) earned the win, throwing 5.1 innings with six strikeouts, allowing four walks, three hits, and one run.
St.Cloud 5, Bismarck 4
The St.Cloud Rox held off a late push from the Bismarck Larks to secure a 5-4 win at home. Tyson Leblanc (Kansas) went 1-for-4 with a two-run double. Tanner Recchio (University of St. Thomas) went 3-for-5, scoring once with two stolen bases. Dominic Smaldino (University of California) went 2-for-4, including a solo home run, and scored twice. The Rockford Rivets surged late with nine runs across the final four innings to pull away from the Royal Oak Leprechauns, earning a 12-5 road victory. The Eau Claire Express took an early lead and never looked back, holding off a late push from the Waterloo Bucks to secure a 4-2 win at home.
